The recent expansion of Hutt Valley Hospital has been designed to triple the size of its emergency centre and double the number of operating theatres. Included in this expansion are some mechanical plant rooms requiring louvre for inlet and exhaust. To meet the stringent performance requirements placed on mechanical services the architects needed to specify a system that is tested to NZ Standards. Furthermore to satisfy council’s requirements for government buildings they also needed to specify products with a guaranteed lifespan of 50 - 100 years. For these reasons the architects chose to specify Colts 2UL and 3UL performance louvre systems. Colt Products and Systems Universal louvre systems have been tested to NZS 4740 and international standards. This means that rain defence and aerodynamic performance can be quantified and guaranteed. Supporting this guarantee are Colt Products & Systems many successful projects nationally and internationally.
